How much can you win playing Castle Builder 2

James Squad Blog

It’s one of the best new UK slots on the internet. We rated the game 98% in our review and it’s going to be mega popular. But how much can you win playing Castle Builder 2?
Unlike other slots in which our case study focused on playing with a fixed amount, we’re going to play to build a castle. This is the clever design from Rabcat; you’re not playing a fixed budget. You play to build castles in the hope of those prizes being worth the wood, bricks, granite and iron ore you put into it.

About the Castle Builder 2 Slot

You can read the full review of Castle Builder II here, but briefly, what is it? It’s the follow up game to the original Castle Builder and it’s highly interactive. With most slots you spin to win, but this slot goes much further. You spin to win whilst gaining materials to build castles leading to points and prizes. You can play as different characters, explore multiple kingdoms, win free spins and build 75 castles in total.

This a land far away from the boring slots of old, this is real money gameplay at its finest. But how much will it cost to build a castle and chase that big win?

Case Study Results – £3 a spin to build a Castle

Ok, we are playing as Mandy in the land of Oujtra. It’s a mountain kingdom that’s very beautiful, almost distracting me from the mission ahead. What was it again, oh yes; build a castle with £3 spins, that’s a coin value of £0.20. Let’s begin the case study.

What you’ll notice first about the slots animation is the sheer speed of the reels. Because of this it’s difficult to identify and track wins as we normally would. What I can tell you is that you win both win line prizes and building materials together. However, regardless of how many (material symbol) win lines you take, you only get one material item for your pallet. It’s important we understand that because this limits the speed you can build a castle. It will cost more in bets too. This is something that’s not evidently clear to the player in most reviews I’ve read.

Total wins against losses – Castle Builder II

Rather than listing every spin like we normally do, I’ll have to summarise. That’s because it took us 53 total spins plus 10 free spins activated during the session. At a betting cost, that’s 53 x £3.00 = £159. If I didn’t trigger the free spins it could have been £189 of bets (As it took 63 spins in total to finish the castle).

Out of my £159 in betting stakes, I raked back £166.30 in wins. Note, most wins were from material value symbols. Remove the betting stakes and it’s just £7.30. But here’s something else that’s interesting. Prior to finishing the castle, I had won just £99.84 from £159 (£3 spins). That’s a loss of £59.16. But here’s the thing, the Castle Builder 2 slot is all about that build at the end.

Castle completion and wedding bonus prize

Once the castle was fully completed, the slot introduces admirers worth hidden sums of money. I found out my castle was built for the young and beautiful Princess Narcissi. So the next part was quite cool, and rarely do we get new online slots with such extras. You’re given suitors, of which you pick one to marry the Princess. Yes, it’s a gamble because looks can be deceiving.

I had a choice between a frog mutated Prince Charles lookalike, an old witch and a young Prince Charming. I played safe and went with the young handsome man for our Princess. The additional win from this wedding was £66.46. Added to the £99.84 wins during the castle build and that’s £166.30 minus £159 in bets. That’s a grand total of just £7.20 in winnings.

If I’d have chosen the creepy frog guy I’d have won £99 from that wedding meaning a total of £39.74 in winnings. (So I made the wrong choice). But it could have been worse. If I’d have chosen the old witch, she was worth £36 and that would have meant I was at a loss by £23.16.

Summary of winnings/losses analysis

It’s safe to say that my particular session on Castle Builder 2 wasn’t very fruitful. So what have we learned? Firstly, it’s clear that Rabcat’s mission for prolonged play has been achieved. You want to play on and finish building that castle. The drawback is betting cost for achieving that result. In our case, 53 spins plus 10 free spins was considerable in our estimate. Other slot games would normally show their features much sooner. But I was playing at £3 a spin and 15p bets are possible, that’s a lesson I’ll take in.

My particular results could have been better and luckier players could build their castles more quickly. It’s also early days so there’s not telling how much some of these castles could be worth. In our game, one wedding prize bonus was £99 playing with £3 spins. That’s 33 x your betting stake. If you consider the slots pay table jackpot of 50 x betting stake. It’s possible that some of these castle bonuses go beyond even that.

The Castle Builder 2 slot from Rabcat is enjoyable and highly interactive. But what makes the game worth playing is the story itself. It’s not just spinning, it’s a mission. And if you chase your bets to build that castle, the prize at the end could be worth every penny you spent along the way!
